Dr. Honglei Wang obtained his PhD in linguistics from Northwestern University. His research interests include syntax, semantics and psycholinguistics.

Course goals

This course aims to get students to become familiar with some basic concepts and research methods in the current semantic study and make them ready for further studies in this area.

Topics

Topics to be covered in this course include: an overall view of semantics, lexical semantics, formal semantics, pragmatics, experimental approaches to semantics

Mid-term paper: 30%

Presentation: 30%
